Stephanie Lam has been teaching English to refugees, migrants and ex-prisoners for 25 years at two Immigration Removal Centres at Gatwick Airport. She is highly skilled at working with complete beginners, and is an expert on trauma-informed teaching, and on creating a calm classroom within a high-stress, high-turnover environment. She is the co-creator of NILE Online’s course Teaching English to Refugees and Migrants.
In the other half of her life, Stephanie is a published author, journalist, and experienced public speaker. She writes for the internationally bestselling Breathe magazine, and lives in the south-east of England, not far from the sea.
