Simon ShephardNILE Consultant Trainer

Simon has worked extensively all over the world as an English language teacher, trainer, facilitator and project manager, with over 25 years’ experience in the ELT field.

He's spent most of his career in South America and the Middle East, namely Argentina, Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt, along with posts in Mauritius, Turkey, and Georgia. He joined the British Council in 2003 and has been an active CELTA tutor since 2010, working on numerous face-to-face and online courses. He was also the English Project Manager for British Council Lebanon from 2013 to 2015.

Until 2020 he was a professional development mentor on the British Council’s Teacher Support Programme in Cairo, delivering a wide variety of pre-service and in-service courses, such as CELTA and TYLEC. Since then he’s been working as a freelance training consultant on a range of various projects and courses.

Simon currently lives in Bournemouth, England and enjoys walks by the sea and drinking endless cups of tea, but not always at the same time!
