Paul AsheNILE Consultant Trainer

Paul is an educational consultant and teacher educator based in Spain, but working globally. He has worked in ELT since 1997 and has extensive experience across the sector as a teacher, examiner, teacher trainer (online and face-to-face), academic manager, school director, materials writer, item writer, editor and copyeditor.

Since 2004, Paul has specialised in academic and business management and consultancy and related training, working with state and private-sector institutions, ministries of education and international organisations worldwide. As a teacher trainer, he has delivered and moderated a wide range of programmes, including CELTA, DELTA (specialising in ELT Management), TKT, and online tutoring. He is Young Learner & CLIL-qualified and works regularly with teachers in both public and private education systems.

Paul has significant experience in materials development and educational consultancy for major international publishers across primary and secondary contexts. He is a qualified copyeditor and Editorial Project Manager as well as a forum moderator and ELT SIG Coordinator for the Chartered Institute of Editors and Proofreaders. He is also a committee member and webmaster for the IATEFL LAMSIG. Paul regularly talks at international conferences and publishes articles on academic management and online teaching.

Due to his passion for the world of ELT Paul considers all the above as hobbies. However he also likes to learn new skills, volunteer and run marathons for charity, go hiking in the hills and enjoy a variety of other sports as well as organic gardening.
