Alan Marsh

Alan has worked for over forty years in teaching, teacher training and teacher development with language teachers from all over the world. For twenty-five years he was the President of the Malta Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (MATEFL). He holds a first degree in English Language and Literature, a Master’s degree in English and a second Master’s degree in English Language Teaching. He is an international conference speaker, Cambridge CELTA and DELTA teacher trainer and CELTA Assessor and has published articles in English Language Teaching and Humanistic Language Teaching.

He is a proud co-author of The Creative Teacher’s Compendium (Pavilion ELT), which combines practical creative classroom teaching ideas and materials with a theoretical underpinning and suggestions for professional teacher development workshops and activities. He is particularly interested in fostering creativity in teachers and learners. He is based in Gosport, UK, Italy and Malta.

He enjoys sea and sunshine, country walks, good novels, discussing current affairs and politics, and can wax lyrical on the joys of football and, especially, of his beloved Burnley FC.
