You will also look at, and evaluate, different activities and resources for teaching language skills and systems. In the final project, you will be asked to design or adapt some teaching materials in order to put into practice what you have learnt on the course.

Further Information

Learning on NILE Online self-access courses takes place through varied and engaging multimedia content. We make courses practical and ‘hands on’, with reference to relevant theory and designed to build knowledge and confidence. We use activities and tasks to help you apply the course content to your setting and reflect on your practice.

Courses are broken down into individual units and activities, forming a clear structure. You need a computer, a headset and an Internet connection. Much of the course can be done on a mobile device, but a computer is needed for certain activities and tasks.

All NILE Online courses include an element of professional language development, i.e. language related to course content and/or the classroom.

Susi Pearson

Susi Pearson has been involved in teaching and teacher training in ELT for over 20 years, working for extended periods in Portugal, Brazil, Poland. She is CELTA and DELTA qualified and holds an MA in Professional Development for Language Education.

She is now based in Norwich where she is the NILE Online Academic Manager, leading on and coordinating all academic aspects of NILE Online courses, as well as tutoring on some courses. She is also a Senior Trainer at NILE, coordinating and working on Language Development and Methodology courses, including CELTA & DELTA. Her particular interests are developing effective ELT materials, how to keep learners motivated and teaching phonology.
