In memory of our outstanding alumna, Erica Dirou, NILE and the University of Chichester are proud to announce this year’s full scholarship on the NILE Masters in Professional Development for Language Education (MAPDLE), validated by the University of Chichester, which is awarded each calendar year to an English Language Teacher or Teacher Trainer working in Egypt.

The Scholarship is for the course fees for the full 180 credits of the programme, or fewer if Recognition of Prior Learning applies to the scholarship recipient.

In order to apply you must meet the entry requirements for the MAPDLE programme outlined in the FAQs here: https://bit.ly/MAFAQ. You must also be a teacher of English Language, or an ELT teacher trainer, working in Egypt in the year of application, and not in receipt of any other NILE or Chichester scholarship.

If you meet the entry and application requirements, please email registrar@nile-elt.com to request a MAPDLE application form, which should be completed and returned by email along with copies of relevant academic and professional certificates and a 500 word statement detailing:

  1. Which modules on the NILE MA programme appeal most to you and why;
  2. How a place on the NILE MA programme would support your own personal development as well as the learning of your learners / teachers in the Egyptian context;
  3. How you plan to manage your time on the NILE MA programme so that you can complete taught courses and the module assignments.

Please note that continuation of the scholarship through the MA programme is dependent on meeting the academic requirements of each module.

The application window for 2024 is now closed.

Applications opened on Monday 8th April 2024 and closed on Tuesday 7th May 2024.

The winning applicant will be announced by NILE, the University of Chichester and BC Egypt on Friday 31st May 2024 and can begin the programme from July 2024 onwards.
