In this course we will look at the fundamental characteristics of a CLIL-based approach and examine the major developments that have shaped the methodology over the past 25 years – from thinking skills to pluriliteracies, multi-lingual education and mediating content. As part of the course you will consider the qualities and skills required by teachers involved in CLIL, as well as the modes of delivery and types of classroom interaction most appropriate to CLIL. The course explores in practical ways the materials and methodology appropriate to CLIL, so that you will be able to develop a range of practical activities for CLIL lessons and programmes. By the end of this course you will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to create your own high quality CLIL lessons.
