Kate Gregson

Kate Gregson has worked with NILE since 2016 as a MAPDLE supervisor and tutor on various training courses for NILE Online (mainly From Teacher to Trainer and Teaching English in Pre-Primary Education), and other tailor-made courses and projects. She is the module leader for the MAPDLE Language Teaching Methodology and Trainer Development modules. She currently works as a freelance trainer and consultant and is based in France, having worked in the ELT field in South America, Asia, the Middle East and Europe for over 25 years. She has held various teacher supervision and management roles, as well as those as a pre- and in-service trainer at a range of levels in many different contexts.

Kate has a master’s degree in Teaching English to Young Learners from the University of York, and holds a DELTA and CTEFLA. Her particular area of interest is in curriculum development, and she is often involved in curriculum reform projects and training. She is active in the IATEFL YLTSIG and TTEdSIG, and has served on the YLTSIG committee as lead publications editor. Among other articles, she has written reviews for the ELT Journal, contributed to the Routledge Handbook of Teaching English to Young Learners and has further publications underway.
