Professional Qualifications Administrator

As our department for professional qualifications in English Language Teaching expands, we are seeking a dynamic individual to work with our Senior Trainers and Registrar to provide high quality administrative support in the delivery of Diploma and MA qualifications, ensuring that first-class programmes continue to be offered.

The administrator will be proactive in liaising with candidates, tutors and examiners in the UK and abroad and should be familiar with digital communication tools 
You must have excellent IT skills and be a calm, capable, organised, flexible and hard-working team member with a good telephone manner. Previous experience in a support role in (higher or further) education is an advantage.

Purpose of Job: 
Supporting the Senior Trainers and Registrar administratively in the delivery of Diploma and MA qualifications, and liaising with candidates, examiners and tutors to co-ordinate the provision of post-graduate qualifications.
 
Key responsibilities:
  • Administrating the NILE Online Delta programme:
    • Liaise with tutors and examiners both in the UK and abroad
    • Liaise with applicants for courses regarding applications and course requirements
    • Liaise and follow up with course participants regarding submission of coursework
    • Administrate the course locally and via Cambridge English
    • Administrate the Delta online platform
    • Administrate the Delta 1 Exam, including liaising with Cambridge English and host exam venues as required
  • Administrating the NILE MA programme:
    • Support the Registrar, Programme Leader and MA tutors in all administrative aspects of programme delivery
    • Liaise with NILE’s partner university on administrative matters as required
    • Maintain records, including data input
  • Working closely with NILE Senior Trainers to develop and extend the reach and effectiveness of NILE programmes, particularly Delta and MA
  • Contributing to the development of NILE’s face-to-face delivery capacities in Norwich and in its overseas venues and  its online delivery capacities through the NILE Online platform, with particular reference to Delta and MA
  • Other duties to support the NILE Team, to be discussed and agreed
 
Essential qualities:
  • Ability to use digital communication tools effectively
  • Ability to work alone and in teams and to manage complex workloads
  • Strong IT skills for internal and external communication 
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
 
Desirable qualities:
  • Understanding of professional development for language educators in a range of contexts
  • A background in Education and an understanding of the fields in ELT in which NILE operates

Responsible to:  NILE Registrar and Senior Trainer 
 
Working hours: 17.5 hours per week (0.5 fte) on an initial six-month contract. 
 
Salary: £18000 per annum pro rata.
 
Holiday allowance: 25 days per annum plus bank holidays pro rata.

Induction, supervised training and appropriate support offered. 

The post is available from 29th January 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter on a part-time (0.5fte), basis, for an initial period of 6 months with possibility of extension. Working pattern and days are negotiable.
