Building on last year’s success, we are delighted to offer intensive 3-week online teacher development programmes, on our brand new eLearning platform in the summer of 2021.

The NILE Online Summer Courses are led by the same great NILE tutoring team, contain the same learning outcomes and interaction opportunities, with NILE materials and resources and a choice of certification levels, all hosted on our award-winning NILE Online platform.

The 3-week NILE Online Summer Courses 2021 will consist of 15 hours per week plus 5 hours extra-curricular social and professional interaction, with a mixture of live and asynchronous sessions to allow you to interact with your tutor and fellow participants as well as accessing most of the materials at a time of your own choosing, within the unit deadlines. Live sessions will be held at a time agreed with participants, and recorded for those who cannot attend.

A complementary English language development course at your CEFR level (B1-C2), through our partner Macmillan Education, as well as NILE's own Take Your Teaching Online course** are also included in the programme.

NILE is also offering the opportunity to work towards the Trinity Certificate for Practising Teachers (CertPT) as part of our online provision, a new qualification with a strong emphasis on context, personalisation, practical application and critical reflection.

English Language Development

We are also offering all participants a complementary 8-unit English language development course at your own self-assessed CEFR level (B1-C2). This self-access course is hosted on our partner Macmillan Education’s Macmillan English Campus and is offered for free with your NILE course. You can access the course before or during your NILE Online Summer Course or anytime until the end of September.

Certification

The NILE Online Summer Courses 2021 are certified on three levels 

  • NILE Participation Certificate - requires a minimum of 80% course participation
  • NILE Certification - awarded upon successfully completing a 4-week assignment to be marked by your tutor
  • The Trinity Certificate for Practising Teachers (CertPT) - awarded upon completing an 8-week assignment fulfilling the skills and knowledge descriptors as set out by Trinity College London.

The Trinity CertPT is an internationally-recognised, standalone, continuing professional development qualification that can be taken independently of other teacher education qualifications.  The CertPT helps teachers evaluate, adapt, create and use and reflect on the use of teaching resources relevant to their context.
