September 2020

Dear all,

Summer is over*, and we are excited to look ahead to the NILE Online courses starting this month. Read on to see what is coming and what is new!

NILE Online this autumn

Next week you can join us for Teaching English in Pre-Primary Education, Management, Materials Development, Trainer Development and Prepare Your Students for IELTS, as well as several MA Modules and the Cambridge Delta. There is still time to enrol, but please hurry to secure your place! Power-Up: Testing and Evaluating in the Flipped Classroom starts in October.

New course elements

We had amazing feedback on the 3-week intensive online courses we ran in July and August, so we have decided to include some of the most popular aspects in our autumn courses.

This includes social events, graduation ceremonies and the opportunity to extend your course to gain the Trinity CertPT, as well as free access to our very popular Take your Teaching Online course and the NILE toolkit for reflective practice - a way for you to extend your learning once the course is over.

New NILE Online courses for groups:

The Trinity Certificate for Practising Teachers

Most of the NILE Online courses can now be extended  to include The Trinity Certificate for Practising Teachers (CertPT). The Trinity CertPT is an internationally-recognised, standalone, continuing professional development qualification that can be taken independently of other teacher education qualifications, and helps teachers evaluate, adapt, create and use and reflect on the use of teaching resources relevant to their context.

Insights - 25 years in Teacher Development

The panel discussions we ran weekly this summer on a wide range of ELT subjects attracted 2000 registrations from over 100 different countries. Hugo Dart attended them all. Read his blog post and contribute to the discussion on Facebook.

The recordings are still available on the NILE Membership platform.

If you are considering a September course, NILE Online tutors took part in the Insights: Sarah Hillyard gave her views on Teaching Young Learners, for instance, and Briony Beaven was on the Training and Development panel.

*although as I write this in my garden, it's 28 degrees in Norwich. Hurray!
