us in our Manchester Summer Centre! NILE is delighted to announce that from 2015 we are extending our services to offer face-to-face courses in the centre of Manchester. The strength of the network of our sister organisation, INTO University Partnerships, has provided many new opportunities for NILE, and thanks to INTO we have now been able to establish a second UK study centre, offering new and returning course participants the choice of two very different study locations in the UK from July next year. Would you prefer the heart of a major European city to the cobbled streets of Norwich? Come to Manchester! Would you like further professional training and do you want to experience more of the United Kingdom and another type of Britishness? Come to Manchester! |
The teaching and learning facilities in Bridgewater House in the centre of Manchester are excellent, and residential accommodation is only a short walk away. We will offer our most popular courses, such as CLIL and TYL, both in Manchester and Norwich. In Manchester, expect NILE-quality courses, some with a “northern twist”; we will combine 20 years’ teacher training experience with all the opportunities Britain’s second city has to offer. The centre will be run by members of the NILE management team and the courses taught by many of our regular trainers. In addition, we will of course draw on the expertise of local staff with local knowledge to help course participants get the most out of the Manchester Experience. We will welcome both individual teachers on open-enrolment courses and closed groups on tailor-made courses. See our full course list or contact us to discuss what we can do for you!

January Sale! We are pleased to announce a flat course fee of £600 (€750) for all our open-enrolment courses scheduled for January 2015, a saving of £460! As some 2014 Erasmus+ funding decisions were made so late that many teachers missed the summer suite of courses, we are keen to offer top quality development and learning opportunities at alternative times of year. Therefore we have decided to schedule a re-run of some of our most popular programmes to be held 5-16 January 2015, at a substantially discounted price. Enjoy the following courses at a 45% discount, as an individual or as a group of teachers: • Advanced Language, Materials and Methodology • CLIL for Primary Teachers • CLIL for Secondary Teachers • Teaching English for Academic Purposes • Teaching English to Young Learners This offer applies to all open-enrolment registrations for January courses 2015, not only those with Erasmus+ funding. The offer of £600 (€750) applies to course fee and registration fee only. Accommodation packages must be paid as per published price. |

Erasmus+ Deadline 4th March 2015 The 2015 call for Erasmus+ applications has been announced, and all NILE's face-to-face courses in Norwich and Manchester are eligible for Erasmus+ funding for European teachers. In 2014, small groups were also able to define their own learning requirements and successfully secure Erasmus+ funding to come to NILE for a tailor-made course. We are keen to share our experience of this process with groups and individuals applying this year. As last year, we are working hard to become a resource for all your Erasmus+ related queries. An information sheet on the European Development Plan, a step-by-step guide to the application process, FAQs and a recently updated sample application form are all available on our website. Alison Lake, our Registrar, is happy to answer more individual questions via email, registrar@nile-elt.com. Good luck with your applications! |

New Blog A major part of NILE's professional activities is providing tailor-made courses for large closed groups. Many of you have worked with us as part of a group on a pre-negotiated programme, specially designed to meet your group's learning requirements. To show how diverse this side of NILE is, we have started a series of blog entries illustrating the main similarities and differences between our groups. From Austrian vocational college teachers to Chinese primary school staff, you can see the scope of programmes we can offer and be inspired to discuss the package best suited to your professional development needs. |
