Russell Stannard started teaching English in Greece in 1987. He later spent 11 years in Spain as Director of Studies of International House Seville. He also began to work with publishers producing materials for Inside Out (Macmillan) and Wavelength (Pearson). Later he worked on publications for China and Egypt.
In 1999 Russell completed an MSc in Multimedia Computing from the University of Westminster and took a post as a Principle Teaching Fellow. He also started a column in the English Teaching Professional called ‘Web Watcher’ which is still running 13 years later. In 2007 he founded the website, Teacher Training Videos and was awarded the British Council ‘Technology’ ELTons and The Times Higher ‘Outstanding Technology’ award.
In 2010, he took a Principal Teaching Post at the University of Warwick before going freelance in 2013. He is currently working with the British Council in India and China as well as working on a European Union project called ‘Video for All’.
