In 1990, Margit joined the language pedagogy department at ELTE University in Hungary. She has been involved in initial and in-service teacher training ever since. She has extensive international experience in designing and running workshops, seminars, and summer courses for teachers.

In addition to general ELT methodology, Margit has run courses on reflective teaching, language development for teachers, mentoring, staff development, group dynamics, the creative teacher, group facilitation, and the teacher as educator.

Margit has been involved in community building by taking up various positions on teacher association committees. At present she is the coordinator of the Global Issues Special Interest Group of IATEFL. She wrote her MEd dissertation on self-awareness and empathy, and the focus of her PhD thesis was group facilitation.
