Over recent months, NILE and Macmillan have worked closely with Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) in North Cyprus running workshops and courses both face to face and online. As part of an integrated effort to facilitate EMU’s institutional development, the Foreign Languages and English Preparatory School (FLEPS) is organising the First International Conference on Foreign Language Education in North Cyprus, and NILE is pleased to support and sponsor this event.

The conference will take place on October 20-21, 2017 in Famagusta, North Cyprus and will provide language teachers and educators with opportunities to exchange ideas on current practices in various areas of foreign language education. FLEPS are, therefore, interested in receiving proposals regarding presentations on relevant topics including research studies investigating teacher and learner development, effective practices for learner and teacher development, syllabus and materials design, testing and assessment, institutional development, policy-making, and Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL).

They therefore accept proposals that address, but are not limited to, the following themes:

* Syllabus Design & Materials Development
* Language Testing, Evaluation & Assessment
* Professional Development
* Methodology
* Teacher Training & Education
* Educational Technology & Language Learning
* Learner / Teacher Autonomy
* Global & Cultural Issues
* Institutional Development & International Accreditation

Registration and proposal submissions are welcome on the ICONFLE website now.
