With sponsorship from the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation, we were very pleased to welcome a group of teachers from universities across Uzbekistan for a 4-week professional development course in August. The teaching was divided into two-week blocks and teachers worked on three different areas: Teaching English for Specific Purposes; Teaching and Assessing Spoken English; and Training Other Teachers.
As part of NILE’s summer programme, participants were also able to take part in workshops on a variety of topics and attend guest lectures from well-known ELT professionals.
They also had the opportunity to interact with other NILE participants in social programme events such as a music evening, as well as weekend trips to London and the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.
The participants said:
Thank you for giving us expert knowledge on various topics. It was unforgettable….
We hope to come back to NILE again. All courses were organised perfectly and… were helpful to us.
I hope to implement the acquired knowledge in Uzbekistan.I have got a lot of new information and enriched my knowledge with new methods.
All the staff at NILE are polite, kind and helpful.
