In July, we welcomed a group of 40 primary and secondary teachers as part of our long-running partnership with the Comunidad de Madrid. This four-week course was intended to improve the participants’ own language skills; develop their teaching methodology and competences related to the bilingual context and gain knowledge and first-hand experience of the English education system.
While here, they built a portfolio of ideas and resources to share with other teachers in Madrid. They worked on a wide range of methodology and language areas as well as aspects of British Culture.
They also spent six days on placement in two local schools and took away many ideas and techniques from this experience.
They enjoyed a varied social programme which included our NILE international evening, a trip to London, a storytelling event and a pub quiz.
The participants said:
"There have been many cultural trips and social events that I have enjoyed very much."
"It has been a very rewarding experience and I wouldn’t change anything."
"The quality of the teaching I received is excellent. I have learnt many things and I will put them into practice."
"A great personal and professional experience."
"Thanks for everything. I have felt amazingly supported and comfortable during my time here."
"Motivating, well-prepared and really patient teachers. Thank you!"
"The school placement was an unforgettable experience."
