From January to March, we delivered courses and workshops to teachers from the Eastern Mediterranean University in Cyprus, supported by our strategic partners Macmillan Education. Briony Beaven, NILE Associate Trainer, was there to deliver a From Teacher to Trainer blended course followed by a Testing and Assessment course delivered by Dave Allan, Founder and President of NILE. Both courses involved a face-to-face component at the university, followed by a 3-week online course. It was a very successful experience for all involved, and the teachers were committed and enthusiastic professionals who contributed a great deal to the courses. In addition to this training programme, NILE Director Thom Kiddle and NILE Associate Trainer Russell Stannard also ran courses on Emerging Trends in ELT and Implementing Blended Learning. As part of our ongoing partnership with EMU, NILE Academic Director Tony Prince will be delivering a course on Culture in Academic English and NILE is supporting EMU’s first International Conference.
We have gained so many useful insights into teacher training and are so excited to apply these to improve our teacher training and professional development unit and programme content.
