Meet new friends and develop your written and spoken English!
NILE offers free English classes taught by trainee teachers who are not yet qualified teachers but are learning how to teach English to speakers of other languages as part of the TEFL training programme CELTA*.
All classes are supervised by experienced teacher trainers.
The classes cover the four skills of Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, as well as grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation, with a strong emphasis on communication and pair/group work.
Who can attend the free English classes?
To join the free English classes you must:
- Have an English level between Pre-Intermediate (A2) and Upper-Intermediate (B2)
- Be available to attend classes every weekday afternoon throughout the course in Norwich City centre
- Be at least 18 years old

The classes are a great way of learning English language in a relaxed environment and participants often sign up for the next block of classes.

Please note: The free English classes are not part of a course, and do not lead to a qualification or certificate.
Unfortunately we cannot accept children on these courses.
*CELTA stands for Certificate in English Language Teaching for Speakers of Other Languages, and is the most widely recognized certificate program for teaching English worldwide. CELTA is awarded by Cambridge Assessment English, part of Cambridge University.
