Unfortunately, due to the corona crisis, we have had to make the decision to cancel the planned #NILE25 celebrations.

However, we wouldn't let a quarter of a century of NILE go unmarked.

"Insights: 25 Years in Teacher Development"

To mark 25 years of teacher development at NILE, we are looking forward to a three-day celebration of NILE, Norwich and ELT this summer!

Since 1996 over 100 trainers have joined us in Norwich, thousands of participants have enjoyed our programmes here, 100s of hosts have welcomed them into their homes and countless organisations and businesses have benefitted from the visitors’ contributions to the local community.

Through #NILE25: Looking Forward, Looking Back, NILE trainers are back in Norwich to acknowledge this, to share their expertise, show what NILE and Norwich have meant to them and throw in some surprises a long the way. Join us for #NILE25 to enjoy talks and workshops, plenaries and panel discussions, and several other more unusual elements... more or less related to ELT! Confirmed speakers include Kay Bentley, Claudia Ferradas, Jeremy Harmer, David Nunan, Gavin Dudeney, Margit Szesztay and many other familiar NILE faces!

Dave Allan, NILE founder, and friends from when it all started will open the celebrations on Friday.

We are delighted to announce Laurie McMahon from Room to Read as our closing keynote speaker, sharing how their work on literacy and girls’ education is changing the future.

The celebrations will run from

5.30pm Friday 31 July to 2.00pm Sunday 2 August 2020

There will be cocktails on the terrace on Friday night, an optional gala dinner at Delia's, Norwich City Football Ground, on Saturday evening, and a choice of social events unique to Norwich on Sunday afternoon.

#NILE25: Looking Forward, Looking Back cost £175. Register before 31 May and benefit from our Early Bird rate of £150!
NILE participants, NILE Alumni or EAQUALS members enjoy a discounted rate of £150.
Saturday only tickets can be booked for £100.

The University of East Anglia is on the west side of Norwich and is set in extensive green and leafy grounds. Residential accommodation on campus will be available in single en- suite study bedrooms for £32 per night, including breakfast. There is a regular 20-minute bus ride, with a service every 15 minutes, to the centre of Norwich and the NILE centre.

We can't wait to see you at the #NILE25 celebrations in Norwich, to look forward, look back, learn and enjoy.
