From Stansted airport
Stansted is the closest
of the London airports to Norwich. If you fly into Stansted Airport
you can travel to Norwich by train, bus or taxi.
Bus
The easiest way to get
straight to Norwich is by bus. There is a regular Jetlink bus service
direct from Stansted Airport to Norwich. Tickets for the Jetlink
buses can be bought on the bus. Alternatively, you can book your

If you are staying in residential accommodation at the University
of East Anglia, the bus stops at the University campus. If you are
staying in homestay accommodation, you should stay on the bus until
it reaches the bus station. From there you can take a taxi to your

Train
The train from Stansted
to Norwich is not direct and you will have to change trains at Cambridge.

From Heathrow or Gatwick airports
Both of these airports are situated on the outskirts on London. You can either travel directly to Norwich, or go into central London and back out again. Please note that the most convenient way to travel is directly to Norwich via bus, especially if you have a lot of luggage to carry.
Direct travel to Norwich:
Bus:The easiest and cheapest way to get straight to Norwich is by the airport bus. There is a regular Jetlink bus service direct from Gatwick and Heathrow Airports to Norwich. Travel to Norwich via London:
1) From the airport into central London
To travel into London from Heathrow Airport you can either catch a train on the London Underground (Tube) network, or there is an express rail link to Paddington Station in central London. From Gatwick Airport you can catch a train to Victoria Station. You can travel into London by taxi but this is very expensive.
2) From central London to Norwich
Bus: National Express buses to Norwich depart from Victoria Coach Station in central London, which is near Victoria train station. (Please note that with a heavy suitcase it is a little too far to walk from the train station to the coach station, but there are taxis at the train station.) Up-to-date bus timetables and prices can be found on the website www.nationalexpress.com.
If you decide to travel to Norwich by National Express bus you are strongly advised to book a ticket in advance as the buses are often fully booked, particularly at weekends. You should do this through your travel agent or through the website www.nationalexpress.com.
When you arrive in Norwich at the bus station you can get a taxi to your host familys house or to the University of East Anglia (if you are staying in residential accommodation).
Train
Trains to Norwich all depart from Liverpool Street Station and the average length of the journey from London to Norwich is 1 hour 50 minutes. The timetable varies throughout the year but an up-to-date timetable can be found on the website www.oneanglia.com and you can book your tickets at www.thetrainline.com. When you arrive in Norwich you can get a taxi from the railway station to your host familys house or to the University of East Anglia (if you are staying in residential accommodation).
Taxi
If you wish, we can arrange for a Norwich-based taxi to meet you at Heathrow or Gatwick airport and bring you to Norwich. It is much cheaper to use a Norwich-based taxi company than a London-based taxi company, however the fare will nevertheless be in excess of £120.
